船用电缆是各类船舶、海上石油平台及水上建筑物的电力、照明、控制、通信、微机等系统的电线电缆。由于使用环境条件较严酷，则要求电缆安全可靠、寿命长、体积小、重量轻，并具有优良的耐温、耐火、阻燃、耐油、防潮、耐海水，优良电气和机械性能等要求。 [1]  船用电力电缆是船用电缆的一种。
类似电线电缆主要分类，船用电缆按使用范围可分为船用电力电缆（包括额定电压工频交流1kV及以下低压电力电缆和额定电压工频交流3～15kV中压电力电缆）、船用控制电缆、船用通信电缆、船用信号电缆和船用射频电缆。 [1]
