Application example : Fluorescence In fluorescence special marking techniques by means of fluorescent dyes are used to analyse cells concerning their condition and behaviour or to diagnose decease patterns. For example at FISH applications at least three different dyes are required to perform an exact metaphase analysis. With this technique the specimen is marked with the dyes DAPI, FITC and TRITC and afterwards examined under the microscope. With special fluorescence filters the single tincts can be made visible and captured as single images. As the tincts are often hardly to discover in the microscope through the eyepieces, a sensitive monochrome camera, like ProgResâ MFcool, is required to support the visualisation of the cells on a PC-screen and to capture high-contrast images, essential for further analysing. With the special fluorescence mode in the ProgResâ Capture Pro software it is possible, to minimize autofluorescence directly in the live-image and avoid a further image processing after capture in this concern. Further, the software supports during capture of the single images and the following merging of those images to a multi-fluorescence image for final analysing.
