Together with the CTC PAL autosampler, thePrepBase system provides automated online filtration, including sample preparation, sample transportinjection into your chromatographic system. We specialize in adapting the PrepBase to the requirements of your application.
In general the PrepBase System is designed to extract, heat or cool,shake or stir samples. Beyond this, it transports standard-sized vials or suitable custom-made ones. The device operates with deepwellmicrotype plates. It can be used for diluting samplespreparing dilution series.
Online filtrationinjection using Whatman Mini-UniPrep vials
PrepBase works as follows: Sample is taken from a vialinjected into the sample chamber of the Mini-UniPrep Syringeless Filter. The autosampler’s arm then inserts the filter plunger into the opening of the sample chamber. The assembled syringeless filter is then transported into the PrepBase, which presses the filter into the sample chamber, forcing sample through the filter. The autosampler syringe then pierces the septa, picks up the sampleinjects it into the user''s chromatographic system.

Quick Filtration of Samples
Whatman''s new Mini-UniPrep syringeless filter is a pre-assembled filtration device for removing particulates from small sample volumes.
The Mini-UniPrep consists of a 0.5 mL capacity chambera plunger. The plunger contains a filtration membrane at one enda preattached cap/septum at the other.
The plunger is pressed through the sample in the outer chamber, forcing the filtrate into its reservoir.
Through positive pressure, air escapes through the vent hole until the locking ring is engaged, providing a liquid-tight seal.
